CHICAGO--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Midwest holds its second annual Medical Tourism conference “Globalization and Model Partnership in Healthcare: United States and Turkey” at Chicago Marriott Hotel downtown, March 12-13, 2010.
“Globalization and Model Partnership in Healthcare: United States and Turkey”
Sponsored by Turkish Airlines Inc., Turkish Accredited Hospitals Association and GE Healthcare Int’l, the conference focuses on current issues and trends facing the global healthcare and medical tourism industries, while introducing Turkey as a healthcare partner and emerging medical destination. CME sessions with a maximum of 5.5-hour Category (1) credit will be administered in partnership with APPNA during the conference. Besides panel sessions for registered attendees, the public will have free access to the exhibits and meet the representatives of several JCI accredited Turkish hospitals.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is invited to the conference as a special guest speaker, and her attendance is expected to enhance the importance of healthcare partnership between the US and Turkey. Among distinguished guests are representatives from the Turkish Ministries of Health, Culture & Tourism, U.S. State Department, Government and State representatives, as well as leaders of health management, medical tourism, insurance, and investment companies, hospitals, medical schools, and major employer groups of the Midwest.
Dr. Russell Walker of Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management will present research on “Turkey as a Medical Destination and Partner: Contributions to the US Economy.” Additionally, Josef Woodman will be officially launching and signing his book Patients Beyond Borders Turkey edition, which gives extensive information on Turkish healthcare industry infrastructure. Turkey has 36 JCI-accredited medical facilities -more than any other country in the world- some of which are affiliated with top tier US providers such as Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins. Equipped with the latest technology and US-trained, Board-certified, highly qualified and experienced physicians and personnel, and no waiting periods for treatment, Turkey's healthcare industry offers many partnership opportunities and solutions to uninsured, under-insured, as well as insured working Americans at world-class hospitals. In light of increasing healthcare costs at home, savings of up to 70-90% in medical costs is possible, combined with a 25% discount from Turkish Airlines for patients and two companions traveling from the US.
The conference will commence with TADAM ball celebrating the Turkish Physicians’ Day on Saturday. Conference information and registration is available at www.MedicalToursimInTurkey.org.
