Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTSA) is performed to open a blockage in an artery or arteries of the heart. A thin catheter with a balloon on the end is threaded from an artery in the groin to the blocked artery in the heart, where the balloon is inflated to increase blood flow. In most cases, a stent is then inserted to keep the artery open. Once the effect of blood thinners have worn off, the balloon is removed.
We provide Balloon Angioplasty in the following world-class global medical facilities.
