"The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the cleanliness. It was more like walking into a business than a hospital. I was impressed with the amount of times the people cleaned, emptied trash. The floors were shiny, the cleanliness absolute.

I stayed in the hospital about 3 days, then was transferred to a hotel right down the street for a few days. The hotel provided high end service, you felt like you were important there.

Every morning I was transferred to the hospital for a check-up. The doctors were very personable. We developed a close relationship. I was on the phone with my doctor the other day and I said I would like to vacation there – we talked about getting together. I will be in touch for a long time to come, even to the point of Christmas cards.

It was a rewarding trip because of that - these are things that stick in my mind that made it all worthwhile.
